The
ALS Association
The mission of the ALS
Association is to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global
cutting-edge research, and to empower people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and
their loved ones to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care
and support.
The ALS Association
provides assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of
chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care
centers, and fostering government partnerships.
California has four chapters (listed from North to South):
The Greater Sacramento Chapter serves from the Sacramento
Valley to the California-Oregon border
The
Golden West Chapter serves
both the Greater San Francisco Bay and Greater Los Angeles areas
The
Orange County Chapter serves
the Greater Orange County area.
The
Greater San Diego Chapter serves
the Greater San Diego area.
The Chapters provide a multitude of services to people with ALS, their loved ones, and the community including:
- High-quality care through
chapter-supported multidisciplinary ALS centers and clinics in your area, care
managers, and support group facilitators.
- Resources and information about ALS
and services including
equipment loans, physician referrals, reference libraries, resource guidance,
van transportation, and more.
- Leadership in research, public
awareness, and ALS advocacy
- Fundraising
to enable research
for the cure and improve the quality of living for individuals afflicted with
ALS locally.

a cure for this disease by giving $10 or more on your 2011
