September 22, 2013- Ojai Valley

Our friends at NCIS, television's #1 hit show, held their 7th Annual Charity Golf tournament at the picturesque Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Golden West Chapter. One of ther beloved crew members is currently living with ALS, and the cast and crew have rallied to spread awareness about the disease and raise funds to support the mission of the Golden West Chapter.

This year, the tournament hosted its first annual golf ball drop contest, with the grand prize winner receiving a 5-night stay in Maui. Chapter representitives were at the event posting live updates, video interviews with the NCIS stars and attending VIPS, and photos from the tournament on our Chapter homepage as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

"The NCIS Golf Tournament and Ball Drop was an opportunity for the Chapter to introduce an innovative multi-media experience to its website visitors," shared Patrick Mc Minn, former advisory trustee and long time supporter of the Golden West Chapter. "Through the use of same-day hosted interviews, on-site photos, and tweets, the viewer was able to get a taste of the fun and excitement that the participants at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa were experiencing, as well as learning in real-time if they had won the trip to Hawaii. This was another step forward in the utilization and integration of social and electronic media driven Chapter messaging."

In addition, the team at NCIS are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bid on a chance to meet the entire cast during a set visit to Los Angeles! The lucky winners will enjoy a chance to meet the cast, visit the sound stages where the show is shot, enjoy lunch, receive a set tour and watch the show being shot LIVE.

Our thanks to the producers, cast, and crew from NCIS for their continued generosity and support of The Golden West Chapter in the fight against ALS!
