  • Thank you so much to Los Gatos Living and Saratoga Spotlight for sharing the story of Golden West Chapter Advisory Trustee, Lucy Wedemeyer, in your magazines to help raise ALS awareness in your communities. Lucy’s husband, Charlie Wedemeyer, was a football coach for Los Gatos High School for over 30 years. He lost his battle with ALS in 2010, but Lucy continues to honor Charlie's life and legacy by supporting the Chapter's mission priorities. Read more.

  • Please watch Allison Johnston (aka - Fuzzy Grapefruit on Instagram) and her informative interview with Golden West Chapter volunteer Melissa Stephens, who is curating a special art exhibition, Hope Lives: Art for ALS at the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery.We also appreciate KRON4 News for their story, and Patch.com for sharing the details of these special ALS Awareness Month events, inspiring hope and action through the power of art.   • The Golden West Chapter is grateful to Glendale News Press for featuring Niall and Dawn Foley, co-founders of the SoCal Ride and Rally to Defeat ALS. Sadly, Niall, a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors, died of ALS in December 2021. Dawn, along with her team, Fighting for Foley, are deeply committed to continuing to support the Chapter's mission critical activities, until effective treatments and cures are found. The SoCal Ride and Rally returns in person on Saturday, May 14. Look out for their story, which will be published soon!
