Run the Jim Tracy 5K, Your Way
The Jim Tracy 5K to Defeat ALS has gone virtual! Although we will not be meeting at Golden Gate Park, we hope you'll "join us" and run the Jim Tracy 5K, YOUR WAY, on Sunday, April 26! Get outdoors and run or walk a 5K (or more!) and post a photo or video about it on social media. Be sure to tag us when you post (social media tags can be found here). THANK YOU for coming together as a community in this difficult time to support the ALS community, who need us now more than ever. For more information, visit our "Event Details" page.
Jim Tracy, the inspirational track coach at San Francisco University High School, lost his courageous battle with ALS in early 2014. Jim touched countless lives during his remarkable coaching career, which spanned two decades and 40 seasons at UHS. The legacy that Jim leaves to the world and to the ALS community is to "never give up", no matter what the challenge.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The safety of the ALS community is always our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, the Golden West Chapter has canceled our March events and support groups. We are continuing to evaluate our planned Chapter's Community Outreach events scheduled in April and beyond, in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and state Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines. We are promoting everyday preventive health actions to all our participants and staff. We discourage anyone who is sick or who represents a vulnurable population, including persons with ALS, from attending community events in-person. Please visit our website frequently to stay current on our response to the evolving news about the coronavirus (COVID-19). Thank you for your support!
We've raised $19,740.69 of our $100,000.00 goal!
