COVID-19 & Safety Measures

Why Proof of Vaccination is Required:

  • This event is first and foremost a fundraising event to fuel the mission of the Golden West Chapter of The ALS Association, where people living with ALS and their families come first. Whereas people living with ALS are at a high risk of serious illness or death if they are infected with COVID-19, the Golden West Chapter requires that all participants, volunteers, staff, guests, and on-site vendors provide proof of full vaccination at the event on September 18, 2021 and sign our waiver upon entry.

  • Kids 11 and younger, at this time, are not eligible to receive vaccination and will not be allowed to participate this year in-person. We’re sorry! We will continue to monitor this restriction and will notify the community if anything changes.

No Masks Required:
  • Because of this precautionary measure, we will be able to host a more traditional (or “normal”) event experience, with no masks or social distancing required.

Assuming Risk:

  • By attending the Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS, you expressly agree to comply with any and all rules and safety guidelines put in place by the event organizers and local authorities, and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, waiving all claims and potential claims against the event organizers, and their affiliated companies relating to such risks.

  • Must sign Waiver at the event.

Vaccine Verification:

  • The following are acceptable as proof of full vaccination: Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered) OR a photo of a vaccination card as a separate document OR a photo of the attendee's vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device OR official documentation of vaccination from a verified healthcare provider.

  • Attending participants, guests, volunteers, staff, and vendors must provide government issued ID along with proof of vaccination.

Sanitation:

  • We will have additional handwashing and hand sanitizer stations at the Festival Site and Rest Stops.

Safety Updates:

  • We are continuously evaluating our event day experiences to comply with guidance from the CDC, state, city and other local agencies. We will continue to update the website with the latest event details. Please see our Safety page to learn more about our current safety requirements and protocols.
