Superior Mobility, which has been a partner of The Golden West Chapter since 2001, is a family-owned and operated company, established in 1979, which focuses on providing the best complex rehab equipment with a client centered approach. We believe that with Hope and L.I.G.H.T (Living In Great Hope Today) we can and will find a cure to ultimately eradicate ALS for good! We want to be apart of that mission and universal vision for our clients and their families.
Superior Mobility has been a proud sponsor of multiple events throughout the Golden West Chapter’s portfolio of events. Per Sabrina Beals, Community Outreach Liaison, at Superior Mobility, “Our first participation with the ALS Association Walk to Defeat ALS was in 2008 at the Ventura-SB Walk. We knew that partnering with the ALS Association was more than just supporting the needs of others- it was supporting the cause, connecting face to face with families and raising awareness in every way possible by furthering support to one day soon live in a world without ALS.” “This particular walk holds such as special place in all our hearts as our very first together- not just as a company, but as a family united.”
“The Community Champion award is such a humbling honor we hold dear to our hearts. We see every day as an opportunity to further the vision and mission of the ALS Association as well as impact the lives of families with care, compassion and mobility. We will never give up on this mission!”
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS does not discriminate -- women and men of all ages and backgrounds are at risk, though for unknown reasons veterans are diagnosed with ALS twice as often as civilians. People with ALS lose their ability to move, speak, swallow and eventually to breathe, while all five senses continue to function normally.
