It's hard to believe that dad has been gone for 21 years and that Nivlac V has been Walking to Defeat ALS for almost the same amount of time. This year mom has joined dad on his eternal journey, along with our brother Tom. They join so many other family members who we've lost over the years. It's up to those of us left on Earth to continue to "Walk the Walk" to Defeat ALS.
We know that life has been a struggle for almost two years with the onset and continuation of COVID 19. We are still hoping that those of you who are able will continue to support the fundraising efforts of the ALSA Golden West Chapter. You can either donate on this page or you can join the team and make the donation in your own name.
This year there are two new ways to join in the efforts. The first way is to visit the ALSA Golden West Chapter website to join the Challenge Hound walking challenge. You will see that you can walk, run, skip, swim, or do just about anything to add to the chaper's total miles. The goal is to walk 1,800 miles to represent the 1,800 people with ALS that the Chapter supports. Your participation doesn't raise funds but you will support the efforts to recognize our ALSA comunity. The second way is to participate in the Silent Auction Baskets. The funds from these baskets will be credited to the teams that created and donated them. I'm not sure that the auction is live yet; however, you will be able to find the information on the Golden West Chapter site.
The walk is virtual again this year so you don't have to "attend" to join. Simply visit the ALSA Golden West Chapter website on October 23rd to view the opening ceremonies, videos, and fundraising totals.
In the meantime, be safe, hug your loved ones, and blessing to all.
