Welcome to the Cody's Crew team page! I'm glad you stopped by.
My name is Cody Aleshire. I am 12 years old. I am a 7th grade student at Wasuma Elementary School. In third grade, I did a class project called "American Hero's" Project. I chose Lou Gehrig as my American hero and did a report on him. He inspired me to want to learn more about ALS. I was also inspired to take action and form my own team called "Cody's Crew" to raise money for ALS. This will be our FOURTH year as Cody's Crew in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Fresno, CA. In 2018, I was honored to be named the ALS Youth Ambassador for the Central Valley. I was also invited to throw out the first pitch at the Fresno Grizzlies baseball game on July 4th in 2017 & 2018. I have done radio interviews to help broaden awareness about ALS. I also led a very successful coin can collection campaign at my school in 2018 and we raised over $800! Cody's Crew is making a difference, last year alone we raised over $15,000 for the ALS Foundation! I would personally like to invite you get involved! Please consider making a donation toward our team fundraising goal of $2,000 for 2019.
Thank you for supporting "Cody's Crew" and for visiting my page.
Your friend, Cody
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
