I’m once again participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS in memory of my dear father, Dr. Theodore "Teddy" Sutnick, who died from ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, in 2004.
Your support has been generous and overwhelming, and I can’t thank you enough, but our fight to defeat ALS is far from over. TEAM TEDDY is committed to raising money to continue funding critical patient services, research, and to advocate on behalf of the ALS community to find more treatments and a cure.
WITH YOUR HELP, THIS YEAR WE ARE GOING TO RAISE EVEN MORE MONEY!
There are no known causes of ALS, no known cure and is 100% fatal.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular
disease that robs the body of its muscle function which leads to the
loss of a person’s ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. Life
expectancy averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Teddy slowly lost his ability to move his limbs, to speak, to eat, and eventually to breathe—while he was fully aware of everything.
I will be walking in memory of my dear father, who loved his family, his work and welcomed friends and life with open arms.
