As you know, my dear sweet wonderful father, Dr. Theodore “TEDDY” Sutnick died of ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2004. I hope you will join me in the fight against this debilitating disease by making a contribution in support of the Walk to Defeat ALS on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016.
All diseases are terrible, but Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is really one of the worst. It is a fatal neurodegenerative illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. One’s mind and memory stay sharp, as the body deteriorates.
Dear Teddy slowly lost his ability to move his limbs, to speak, to eat, and eventually to breathe—while he was fully aware of everything.
Two years ago, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge showed us that small acts can add up to make a big difference for people living with this 100% fatal disease, in which one lives 2-5 years after being diagnosed. Your support will help fund more programs, services and research for people with ALS.
I will be walking in memory of my dear father, Teddy, who loved his family, his work and welcomed friends and life with open arms.
