For the 8th year in a row, it's with heavier but hopeful hearts that Team Winsor Pilates joins The ALS Association Golden West Chapter Walk to Defeat ALS, on Saturday, October 23. For the second year in the row, the Walk will take place wherever you call home.
On April 28th, several Team Winsor Pilates team members joined together to celebrate our dear friend, Mari Winsor, on the one-year anniversary of her passing with her beloved husband, Elliot Nachbar, at their home in Sherman Oaks. Mari was loved by all who met her in person, at her Winsor Pilates studios, at national and international Pilates workshops and conferences, or virtually through her award-winning videos. But most of all she was loved and adored by Elliot who with the support of her caregivers, nursed her tirelessly from the onset of her ALS diagnosis in 2013 until her death in 2020.
We are saddened to announce that Elliot passed away on May 9, 2021. Elliot worked as a teacher, disk jockey, and bookseller, but it wasn't until he moved to Los Angeles that he found his lifelong career in movie production, working as a grip. Today, we continue to walk and raise thousands of dollars to honor and remember Mari and her beloved Elliot, as the work of the Golden West Chapter has made – and continues to make – a profound difference in the lives of people living with ALS.
