Hi to all of our friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors!

This is the 10th year that we will be participating in the ALS walk.  Our goal is to raise $5000!

Each year we walk (and camp!) in memory of Jim, an amazing husband, father, friend, and colleague whom we miss everyday. We also walk in memory of Sharon, Bill, and Scott --Jim's mother, grandfather, and his brother, who died in 2018 after battling ALS.

Usually, six amazing families kick off the awareness and fundraising campaign by going "Camping for a Cure" at Sequoia National Park in July.  Due to the coronavirus, things have looked a little different this year.  But ALS doesn't stop, so neither will we.  

Please consider joining our team and walking with us VIRTUALLY, from anywhere in the world, and/or sponsoring us by making a donation. The money we raise will  help researchers accelerate the search for treatments and cures for this hideous disease. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by ALS now and in the future.  We encourage you to get your friends, family, neighbors, employers, and coworkers involved!

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:

Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.

EVERYONE IS AT RISK.   This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
