This is the 16th year of Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS and Walk. Since its inception the Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS has raised over $8,200,000.00. I have been involved for 15 of those years. The ALS Association supports the ALS community in three main areas; research, advocacy and patient services. The average cost of care for an ALS patient is over $250,000 per year. Providing care for ALS patience is more important and more difficult during this pandemic. Extra precautions must be taken to prevent ALS patients from being exposed to the coronavirus.
