It is a rare occasion when there are two important events, happening on the same day, and each holds unique significance for the ALS community. Please join with the Golden West Chapter in recognition of these milestones and in celebration of people with ALS and their loved ones!

Global ALS/MND Day

Global ALS_MND Day.png

We invite you to participate with the Golden West Chapter and over 40 international organizations to recognize ALS, a motor neuron disease, and the profound impact it has on people all over the world. Every year the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations commemorates June 21 as the global day of recognition of ALS/MND.

Show your support for the Fundamental Rights of people living with ALS/MND by reading and sharing this advocacy tool. Please use the hashtag #ALSMNDWithoutBorders today on any of your social media posts and join the global community dedicated to help raise awareness about this disease. Today and every day, we are united in the worldwide fight against ALS/MND.

Father’s Day

Father’s Day is a special time to show our appreciation for our dads, grandpas, and other important individuals in our lives for everything they do. We send a special shout-out to the fathers, father- figures, pet dads, and anyone celebrating Father's Day. The Golden West Chapter would like to especially honor those fathers who are living with ALS or caring for someone with the disease. Your courage, dedication, and strength are truly inspiring to all of us.

One of these extraordinary individuals is Kevin Heller, an Army veteran and graduate of West Point who was diagnosed with ALS in 2019. This father of two lives his life to the fullest and is a source of inspiration to family, friends, and community to get involved with the Golden West Chapter and advance the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS.

As one of the largest ALS organizations in the country, the Golden West Chapter serves over 1800 individuals and families facing ALS in 31 counties throughout California and the state of Hawaii. Our care services programs, including professional care management and support groups, are available free-of-charge

We fund global research and support scientific/clinical collaborations that connect people with ALS to clinical trials. The Chapter partners with multidisciplinary ALS clinics and centers. We work to raise ALS awareness and to advance important public policy initiatives on behalf of the entire ALS community.

Now and always, our values drive our mission and our principles guide our vision. We are grateful for your generous support that makes everything we do possible.

It is only together we will defeat ALS.
