The ALS Association Golden West Chapter announced its Honorary Co-Chairs for the 3rd annual ONE STARRY NIGHT: A Special Performance Dedicated to Conquering ALS. The event is a musical and entertainment extravaganza to be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Pasadena Playhouse. The public is invited to join superstar Miley Cyrus and Pilates guru Mari Winsor for this one-night-only benefit in support of the ALS community featuring performances and appearances by an exciting gathering of Broadway and Hollywood talent.
In addition, the Golden West Chapter will honor Kaiser Permanente Southern California with their prestigious “Commitment to Care Award” for establishing multidisciplinary ALS clinics at their Fontana, Los Angeles, and South Bay locations. Due to the trailblazing efforts of Drs. Scott Miller, Michael Kanter, Nazanin Matloubi, Vinh Dang and others, these ALS clinics offer Kaiser Permanente members with access to a model of coordinated clinical and community-based care. In addition, two of the clinics have earned the distinguished designation as an ALS Association Recognized ALS Treatment Centers.
“The ALS Association Golden West Chapter is proud to honor Kaiser Permanente Southern California for their incredible enhancement to the care and resources available to people with ALS and their families,” said Fred Fisher, President and CEO of The ALS Association Golden West Chapter. “We celebrate their ALS clinics in Los Angeles and South Bay for their distinguished designation as ALS Association Recognized Treatment Centers.” Proceeds will provide funding for The ALS Association Golden West Chapter’s mission critical priorities in care services, public policy, and cutting-edge global research toward treatments and cure for ALS. The evening will also include a pre-show reception, silent auction, and post-show dessert with a special “meet-and-greet” with the cast. Grammy Award-nominee Bruce Kimmel will direct the production, with musical direction and orchestrations provided by Richard Allen.
