Thursday, July 4, the Fresno Grizzlies will host a special ALS awareness evening to honor the 74th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's farewell to the New York Yankees and his fans.  Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, give our information about The Chapter and the National ALS registry, and to promote our Central Valley Walk to Defeat ALS. 

The national "Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease" campaign is focused on promoting the ALS registry and spreading awareness about the increased risk to our military veterans. Grizzlies fans will be treated to a special camouflage baseball  and a copy of Gehrig's speech to commemorate the evening.  Our thanks to the Grizzlies and to the Fresno community for the efforts to make this such a special day!

The San Francisco Giants, in partnership with The ALS Association Golden West Chapter and ALS-TDI, will once again team up for an ALS awareness event at AT&T Park. The game is scheduled for Sunday July 7 at 1:15 p.m. against the LA Dodgers. There will be a presentation on the field honoring people with ALS and raising awareness about the disease. We will have a group section in View Reserve 336.

The Oakland A's will once again team up for an ALS awareness event on Saturday July 27 at 12:05 p.m. against the Los Angeles Angels. There will be special messages on the scoreboard promoting ALS awareness and Chapter events. Guests can bid on special A’s and  game memorabilia in a special silent auction until 5^th inning. 100% of the proceeds from this auction benefit the Golden West Chapter.

Our Natural Balance Pet Foods Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease Youth Baseball Tournament will take place in Thousand Oaks from Thursday, July 26 through Sunday July 28.  Since its inception in 2005, the Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease Youth Baseball Tournament  has grown to be the most successful charitable youth baseball tournament in the country; this event has raised thousands in support of care services, global research for treatments and cures, and important public policy initiatives.  For every home run hit and strike out pitched, Natural Balance Pet Foods makes a donation towards the fight against ALS.You can support these dedicated young players here in the Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease Tournament hit-a-thon.
