ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Progress
In keeping with the annual tradition of honoring the legacy of Lou Gehrig’s farewell to baseball, the Grand Slam Challenge came back for another year this July!
Those who hit a Grand Slam crossed 4 key bases for striking out ALS, including
1) registering for the Golden West Chapter Walk,
2) customizing a personal fundraising page,
3) sending emails through the Walker participant center, and
4) fundraising $82 in honor of the 82 anniversary of Lou Gehrig's speech.
Each of these actions are crucial to fighting ALS and achieving all four would provide eligibility to win from the new Walk to Defeat ALS Prize Vault! For every Grand Slam hitter that also either recruited a new Walker, RSVPed for our Walk Fundraising 101, and/or RSVPed for our Kick-off, was given an extra entry into the winner drawing for each additional action taken.
