Chapter Community Outreach Activities and Events
In 2020, nearly 3,400 registered event participants and volunteers built community, raised ALS awareness, and generated more than $2.7 million in donations to benefit the work of the Golden West Chapter.
The Golden West Chapter hosts a number of annual activities and events to raise awareness and funding that helps to provide valuable care services to people living with ALS, support cutting-edge ALS research, and promote public policy initiatives on behalf of our ALS community.
These events include our Chapter's many Walk to Defeat ALS events and our Team Challenge endurance events, including the Napa Valley Ride and SoCal Ride to Defeat ALS. We also host golf events, our annual Champions for Cures and Care Gala, and a number of other chapter-supported do-it-your-way fundraisers. We also partner with Major League and Minor League Baseball and other sporting organizations in ALS awareness days to raise awareness and support for families facing ALS.
In addition to our community awareness events, we hold educational webinars, support group meetings, caregiver seminars, and other gatherings exclusively for people living with ALS and their caregivers.
Whether you are interested in science, sports and exercise, arts and entertainment, community-organizing, volunteerism, or quality time with family and friends, the Golden West Chapter offers a variety of enjoyable ways to devote time towards raising much-needed awareness and support for this disease.
