ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Progress
Facebook now allows people to create do it yourself (DIY) fundraisers to help support their favorite organizations and causes. Now you can ask your Facebook friends to support your efforts to the fight against ALS and support The ALS Association Golden West Chapter by following these easy steps!
Creating a fundraiser or adding a donate button to a post is easy! Here is a quick link so you can get started or you can make your gift through one of our existing Golden West Chapter’s Fundraisers!
Log in to your facebook account and start to create a status update or personal post.
Share why the fight against ALS is meaningful to you and how donating to The ALS Association Golden West Chapter will have an impact for those living with this disease. If you want gift to be designated to a particular event, team, or participant, please make note of this. Otherwise, all gifts will be made as general contributions. Always use the tag @alsagoldenwest and the hashtag #ourALScommunity.
Click the "Raise Money" button at the bottom of your post and select "The ALS Association Golden West Chapter".
Log in to your facebook account and the visit The ALS Association Golden West Chapter’s Facebook page. If you haven't already, be sure to "like" us!
Use this link to quickly access the create a fundraiser page. Or, if you are on The ALS Association Golden West Chapter Facebook page, you can click on the "Fundraisers" tab at the top of the page for mobile or desktop then click on the "Raise Money" button. For desktop, you can also use the left navigation and scroll down to the "Fundraisers" section and click the "Create fundraiser" button located at the bottom of the section.
This creates a shareable page that you can customize with a goal amount, currency, an end date, title, description, and cover photo. Please note: the order of the customization options is different on desktop and mobile, but the options are the same.

You can upload your own photo to personalize your fundraiser. After you select the photo you want, click “Done.” You’ll have the option to move or crop it.
Select “Create” to publish your fundraiser and share it to your Facebook timeline.
