Keep hope alive and your spirits high by seeing the new documentary, "Gleason", in select theaters starting Friday, July 29. Steve Gleason, a former defensive back for the New Orleans Saints, led the team to a heroic victory after New Orleans was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Steve was diagnosed with ALS in 2011 and the film chronicles his journey over the past five years. His heroic efforts on behalf of the ALS community are extraordinary, and led to many victories including the passage of the Steve Gleason Act, which makes speech generating devices available to people with diseases like ALS under the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs. The ALS Association Golden West Chapter is proud to collaborate with Team Gleason in support of access to quality care and vital equipment, and the search for a cure for ALS.
