A big thank you to all the friends and family who have stood by Chris and Bardet family over the last few years. Your loving support and generous contributions are a source of strength and hope.

Chris was diagnosed with ALS in 2010. He refused to let Lou Gehrig's Disease control his life and while the disease took his speech, he made sure he lived by the ALS Association motto "Never Give Up." Chris continued to ride his bike, support his family, and even work through the progression of his illness. His bravery and determination is an inspiration to all who knew him.

Chris passed away at home 12/4/2013 in Bakerfield, CA surrounded by family. He will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.

I just found out earlier today about Chris on FB .. I was stunned and shocked. And then my mind immediately began to ponder the times we had together as kids growing up. We were on the same swim team and in HS we played tennis as double partners .. I sometimes threw my racket and got upset while Chris was cool calm and collective and would talk to me in his special way and tell me to just relax and play the game. I admired Chris in many ways especially his sense of humor and brilliant mind. Chris was a big part of my childhood memories I will always treasure and hold dear to my heart. God Bless You Chris And Your Family ... Randall

I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris but I have no doubt he was a good man. I have the good luck of knowing his son Kyle. Anyone who raised a son like Kyle must have been an exceptional man.

Bardet family-
I am so sorry for your loss of an amazing man, husband, dad and friend. I had the blessing of knowing Chris through Kyle and know that he has touched so many lives, including mine.
I am grateful that he is no longer suffering and that he is riding his bike in heaven, enjoying every moment with the Lord.
Love you all-

Kyle, your dad will be greatly missed. I wasn't able to meet him, but he certainly raised a wonderful person. You are one of the strongest people I know. Praying for you and your family.
